Roots of Our Consciousness
I’m fascinated by human consciousness and where it resides and exactly what it is. Scientists, philosophers and theologians have wrestled with this for many many years. It gets down to the fundamental question of who we are and where we’re going and if the world is more than just what it seems to be.

Where Your Heart Lies...
Where your heart lies there is your treasure. All that glitters today fades tomorrow and we cannot take with us. In our modern world we have this insatiable lust for trinkets that bring us happiness today but are generally forgotten tomorrow. Landfills and graveyards filled with things we have so much anxiety and so much desire for one day but are fading memories the next. When I created this piece I was thinking a lot about the things that we can take with us when we shuffle off this mortal coil… things like love, not gold or gadgets, not status or titles nor wealth of any kind. The exception being love. Kings and queens fade to dust but our love is eternal.

Everything Crumbles
Visually there are things that I find super compelling and I come back to these images often when I draw. I love the trees and rocks and I love abandoned buildings. Of all the kinds of buildings the people abandon I find churches to be the most fascinating to me. It’s haunting to think that the faith drives people to all kinds of commitments and choices in life could be abandoned. Abandoned churches call out to us from the past and we have to wonder what is it that they are trying to say? What is it that we hear in the groaning wood and the crumbling stone?
Three Eagles
This is a piece of digital art I created an Adobe illustrator from a pencil sketch that I did of Three Eagles, the center portrait part loosely based on a famous photo of him.
Dia de los Muertos
This is the first of two digital art images that I did for the Dia de los Muertos Several years ago. This image I created using Photoshop and illustrator.
Midnight
She was alone in the dark. It was a cold winter night but there was comfort in the stars looking down from above. Three new stars appeared and shone with extraordinary brilliance and then vanished. All the stars vanished. She was alone.

Death of a Warrior
This is another piece that I created on the iPad Pro using the Procreate app and an Apple Pencil. I love to draw and my favorite medium is ink. The iPad affords me the ability to do a lot of creative things digitally and scratch that itch to draw every day. No excuses draw every day even if it’s crap just do it.
Every day above ground is a good day
The title pretty much sums it up. It’s a great philosophy to have and I like it so much I created a sticker for my jeep.
